Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has shed light on the reality of being Max Verstappen‘s teammate. Verstappen leads the title race for a fourth consecutive year with seven wins and 10 podiums to his name.
Max Verstappen has been beaten by seven different drivers this campaign, such as Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton. The two Brits have been the only drivers to have won more than a single race in 2024 other than the Dutchman.

Helmut Marko has deemed Verstappen a vastly competitive force on the track. Marko claims that neither Lando Norris nor Lewis Hamilton could beat the 26-year-old if either were to race for the Milton-Keynes outfit.
I don't think it's nice to be a teammate to Max nowadays. I honestly believe not many drivers, maybe a Hamilton, or maybe Lando, could be near to him - but only near to him (not beat him).Helmut Marko said on the Inside Line F1 podcast
Norris stands second behind Verstappen, while Hamilton stands sixth in the driver’s championship this year. The upcoming race at Monza will be a stern test for the Dutchman, who will look to bounce back after a lackluster show at Zandvoort.
Christian Horner calls for calm after turbulent Red Bull outing at Zandvoort
Red Bull finished second and sixth at the Dutch Grand Prix, miles behind the pace of McLaren. The Milton-Keynes-based team now holds only a 30-point advantage over the second-placed Woking-based outfit in the Constructors Championship.

But we know that we don't need to panic. We are just trying to improve the situation. And that's what we are working on. But F1 is very complicated. Based on [the] performance, if it was like that at the next nine races, yes, it would be very, very difficult. But it's the fourth time this year, only the fourth time, that Max's points lead had reduced. It's only Lando's second win.Christian Horner via motorsport
Christian Horner claimed that his team is on a constant search to resolve the issues within the RB20’s performance. Horner said that the current situation does not require panic as the Milton-Keynes outfit has lost its lead for only the fourth time this season.
Max Verstappen has vested full faith and confidence in Christian Horner and Red Bull’s abilities to improve the RB20’s outings on the track. The Milton-Keynes team will require wins in the next few races in order to secure the title this year.
