Ex-Red Bull racer reminds the Austrian team of Williams’ miserable state as they announce the departure of Adrian Newey

Adrian Newey’s departure from Red Bull was recently confirmed by the team, the former racing driver, Karun Chandhok believes that now the Austrian outfit should watch their moves. Williams went from glory to not winning any races as Newey parted ways with them back in the day. 

Whether it’s a prophecy or not, in the past, it has happened whenever Newey has parted ways with a team, their glory somehow faded. Moreover, with the ongoing turmoil within Red Bull, things could further escalate as Red Bull prepares for life without Newey.

With Newey’s departure, it will be as many as three people parting ways with the Milton-Keynes-based team within a year. The unrest and the controversy surrounding Christian Horner could be one of the reasons according to the speculations. Max Verstappen could also possibly be on the move as well. 

Adrian Newey expresses his gratitude towards Red Bull 

As indicated above, Adrian Newey is all set to mark a journey of new adventures as he has decided to part ways with Red Bull early on in 2025. As the team published an official statement, Newey took the opportunity to talk about his experience with the team as well as to express his gratitude towards everyone.

I would like to thank the many amazing people I have worked with at Red Bull in our journey over the last 18 years for their talent, dedication and hard work. It has been a real privilege, and I am confident that the engineering Team are well prepared for the work going into the final evolution of the car under the four-year period of this regulation set.

After spending almost two decades with the team, Newey has finally decided to bid his final goodbyes. According to the team’s statement, Newey will work on Red Bull’s first-ever Hypercar RB17 and will immediately step back from his duties in regards to F1. Several rivals are already on the move regarding the signing of the sensational Brit.
