McLaren currently has the fastest car, which has helped Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri display exceptional skills to compete fiercely against their rivals. In the recent Azerbaijan GP, Piastri secured victory with Norris playing a crucial role. The Briton defended against Sergio Perez, allowing Piastri to maintain his lead and win.

With six races left in the season, McLaren’s dominant car has led them to the top of the Constructors’ Championship. They also have a shot at the drivers’ title, as Lando Norris is closing in on Max Verstappen. Oscar Piastri has admitted while he doesn’t like team orders that favor a teammate, he said he would support Norris because he has a better chance of winning the title.

However, Norris has stated that he doesn’t want to look back in five years and realize that he won the title because of someone else. The 24-year-old wants to earn his title fairly and believes relying on Piastri’s help would not be a genuine way to win.

As a team, McLaren has won over 516 points and currently tops the table. Norris believes that the only thing that matters is him doing his job right on the track.

McLaren’s last constructors title came in 1998 and 26 years later, they’re back at it again. Norris has admitted that it’s hard to fully grasp his position while in the middle of the championship fight.

I’m sure maybe next year, or in many years, once and when I review it and when I look back on it, it probably will feel quite different.
