McLaren F1 driver, Lando Norris has placed his bets on Scuderia Ferrari to win the Canadian GP despite massive improvements within his team. The papaya outfit has been in fine form this season and looks capable of challenging for the title.

Charles Leclerc of Ferrari is one of the most competitive drivers on the grid currently. He dominated the entire Monaco GP weekend and will look to further continue his streak in Montreal. Lando Norris has also been relentless this season after he finished P1 in Miami to score the maiden win of his career.

Norris has said that Ferrari will hold a greater advantage over Red Bull and McLaren due to their impressive top speed around the Gilles Villeneuve circuit. The Italian outfit has also been the only team on the grid this season to have a race victories each in the name of both their drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

We should still be very close, and I think it’s impossible to say which of us, Ferrari or Red Bull, will be in front. This is what makes current F1 so exciting. If I had to make a bet, I would probably bet on Ferrari, which I think is the favorite. Due to its high top speed, but also because I think it can adapt better to the track.
Lando Norris said ahead of the Canadian GP

McLaren heads into the Canadian GP looking to perform to the best of their abilities as they seek to capitalize on the probable wet weather around Montreal. The event will witness an exciting battle between Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari to see who takes the top spots around the 4.361 km track.

Andrea Stella talks of hindrances with MCL38 in Canada

While Norris has deemed Ferrari as the favorite in Montreal, McLaren Team Principal, Andrea Stella has talked of the strengths and weaknesses of the MCL38 heading into the Canadian GP. The Woking-based team is currently the third-fastest team on the grid, with very little separating the top three.

We are not entirely satisfied with the behaviour on kerbs, on bumps. Clearly we play with set-up, but we don’t seem to be able to achieve the same ride and kerbing performance that we see, qualitatively, on some other cars. And our drivers are pretty vocal that some other cars seem to be able to ride kerbs with more confidence

Andrea Stella has admitted that his team has not been convinced with the way their car has handled itself around kerbs and bumps as compared to their rivals. Coincidentally, Red Bull has also complained of the same issues with their RB20 but the Milton Keynes outfit has faced the struggles of the same in a more adverse manner.

Stella went on to assert that overall, there is satisfaction within McLaren as they have their work cut for the race in Montreal along with a clear understanding of their problems. The 53-year-old Italian has vested his full faith in the strength of the team as they look to maximize their performance during the whole three-day Canadian weekend.
