McLaren’s highly dominant performance in the 2024 season has enabled them to breeze past Red Bull in the constructor’s championship. Woking has already extended the lead to over 41 points, leaving Milton Keynes in the dust. However, amidst the massive upturn, Lando Norris has issued a warning to McLaren to not be too relaxed amidst the former’s championship ambitions against Max Verstappen.
Lando Norris claimed that McLaren was doing well at the minute and highlighted his resentment towards the three-week break before the US GP. Norris applauded the Woking crew for doing an amazing job during the 2024 season. However, the 24-year-old didn’t downplay Red Bull’s experience and performance in the sport amidst people ‘writing them off’ too quickly.
We are doing well, at the minute. I want to keep going! Screw the break, let’s go straight to Austin. The team are doing an amazing job but we’re up against Red Bull. People keep writing them off quickly and too easily.
Lando Norris said on Channel 4
Subsequently, Norris highlighted that the team was up against Red Bull and Max Verstappen, who have dominated the sport for the past several years. As a result, the Briton labeled the challenge from Milton Keynes as ‘tough competition.’ Additionally, the 24-year-old berated ‘relaxing too much’ while being up against the best of the rest on the Formula 1 grid.
When you’re up against Red Bull, you’re up against Max. They have dominated the sport for the past several years. They are tough competition. I feel like people relax too much. When you’ve got Max and Red Bull behind you, pushing? They will do whatever they can.

McLaren must ‘keep working hard’ to fend off against Red Bull
Red Bull has continued to work hard on their dwindling 2024 pace and implemented multiple upgrades. Hence, it will only take a few more race weekends for them to return to their winning ways. Amidst this, Lando Norris believed that McLaren must keep working hard as Milton Keynes was sure to catch up.
I am happy but we need to keep working hard because I’m sure Red Bull will catch up. I want my races to be nice and easy!
Lando Norris noted

Norris’ 2024 performances have allowed him to be at the center of huge praise. The Briton has continued to improve in performance and adding more race wins to his tally. He will have to keep working hard on his pace if he wants to move up the pecking order in the drivers’ standings this season.
