McLaren driver Lando Norris has praised his team for their uplifting performances throughout the 2024 season. The Papayas lead the constructors’ championship with a lead of 41 points for the first time since the 2014 campaign.
Lando Norris has been pivotal in the Woking-based team’s escapades ever since the Miami GP. He has amassed three wins along with 11 podiums so far. Norris, however, trails in the drivers’ championship to Red Bull’s Max Verstappen by 52 points.
Norris has thereafter deemed the MCL38 as a faster unit as compared to the RB20 over the past few races. The Milton-Keynes-based team, as a result, is no longer the favorite to claim the revered title this year.
Max Verstappen, despite being on a slower spell, has appeared more effective and clinical in comparison to Norris. The Brit therefore has a lot more to do if he wishes to dethrone the reigning three-time world champion.
Lando Norris aspires to come up trumps against Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen started the season in formidable form, securing seven wins out of the first 10 races. His confident start built a convincing lead in the title race, the benefits of which he currently reaps against his rivals.
Norris has emphasized making his best efforts in leaving no stone unturned to catch Verstappen. Norris and Verstappen have been friends for a long time, which makes them aware of each other’s strengths as well as weaknesses.
As Formula 1 heads towards an interesting finale, all lies on the line for the two fierce competitors this season. Time will tell as to whether the British will reclaim his very first accolade or Verstappen will chart his fourth consecutive one.
