While the F1 paddock gets a much-deserved rest before the next race in Austin, Red Bull star Max Verstappen is celebrating his 27th birthday. With birthday messages having begun pouring in from around the world, his partner Kelly Piquet shared an adorable post on social media to mark the occasion.
Max Verstappen has been the most consistent driver this year. The Dutchman has scored seven victories but has not been on the top step of the podium since the race in Spain. However, he would not be worrying about the driver’s standings on his birthday and would rather enjoy his day to the fullest with friends and family.
While birthday wishes flooded in since the clock struck midnight, Kelly Piquet‘s birthday wish stood out among the rest. The 35-year-old posted a picture on her Instagram story along with a sweet caption.
‘Mashy’ could be the Dutchman’s nickname given to him by Piquet as his step-daughter Penelope was heard calling Verstappen by a similar name at the Japanese GP earlier this year. Moreover, the 35-year-old had posted another story where she, Verstappen, and Penelope were together in a family picture and she wrote “I love us” while tagging the 27-year-old’s Instagram handle.
What did Red Bull give Max Verstappen for his birthday present?
While Kelly Piquet and Max Verstappen are expected to have a bash with their near and dear, the 27-year-old is also the star driver of Red Bull. The reigning champion was given a cat and fish toy, owing to his love for animals which was clearly visible as he was grinning while reading the birthday card.
Verstappen was ecstatic to receive the clever present. Moreover, the toys could add to Penelope’s collection and go along with the souvenirs he brought from Singapore for his five-year-old stepdaughter.
On the other hand, after celebrating his 27th birthday, Verstappen would look to refocus on his goal of winning the 2024 F1 title. The Dutchman has to ace the next six race weekends as McLaren‘s Lando Norris is closing in on him in the driver’s standings.
