Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton put on a flawless performance at Silverstone to win the British GP for a record ninth time. This win comes as the first victory for Hamilton in over two years, following his last triumph in the 2021 Saudi Arabian GP.
Mercedes has managed to win back-to-back races in Spielberg and Silverstone over two consecutive weeks, entailing a huge upturn in performance. The Silver Arrows did not have a fruitful start to the season and trailed massively to the likes of Red Bull and McLaren, but they have finally found their way since the Monaco GP.

I definitely know for sure that I couldn't do what I do without the fans around the world, and here in UK. My father gave me my first helmet growing up in Stevenage, and the fans lifting me up.Lewis Hamilton said after winning the British GP

Lewis Hamilton started the race in P2 but was quick to find pace around the high-speed circuit of Silverstone, with teammate, George Russell starting on pole. Around lap 30, the rain started pouring down, which caused a major stir in the strategies of many on the grid, which allowed Hamilton to take further advantage due to his wet weather abilities.
Lewis Hamilton was thereafter successful in managing his tires against the McLaren of Lando Norris to win the race by a margin of just 1.4 seconds over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Hamilton then said that the victory was due to the support of his team and his fans, who have been constant motivators through thick and thin. The 39-year-old concluded his victory speech by thanking his father (Anthony Hamilton), without whom this journey would not have been a reality.
