Lewis Hamilton has completed his farewell tour with the Mercedes Formula 1 team. After the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP, Hamilton has been flying to different places as part of the Toto Wolff-led team’s well thoughout tour.
From Kaula Lampur to Stuttgart, to now recently ending the tour in Brackley, Lewis Hamilton has had a memorable last few days with the Mercedes team. Moreover, during the Grand send-off in Brackley, Hamilton even got teary-eyed seeing the love of everyone on the team.
From the mentioned video, it is quite clear that the German outfit didn’t hold back from giving Hamilton a memorable send-off. All the engineers, and the overall workforce joined hands and lined up outside the base as the seven-time world champion went away bidding adieu to the team.
Hamilton during his over a decade-long career with Mercedes, amassed six drivers’ world championships. He also managed to secure an impressive eight constructors titles until the end of the 2021 season. From 2025 onwards, the Brit will be seen repping the Red of Ferrari.
Lewis Hamilton no longer in his prime in Formula 1?
While Lewis Hamilton has received a huge farewell from Mercedes ahead of the Ferrari switch, the 2009 world champion has questioned the Brit’s place in F1. Jenson Button believes that Hamilton’s aging body is having an affect on his performances.
Hamilton is currently 39-years-old and is the second-oldest driver on the F1 grid. He will partner with the 26-year-old Charles Leclerc at Ferrari and will have to be on top of his game.
Leclerc has been with the Fred Vasseur-led outfit for quite sometime and is considered one of the best drivers on the modern grid. Moreover, he ended the 2024 campaign in third place in the drivers’ championship behind Lando Norris and Max Verstappen.
Keeping in view everything that has been discussed, the 2025 season could see Hamilton and Leclerc regularly locking horns on the racing track. Both would ideally want to have a go at the world title and because of this, things could get quite feisty between the two.
