Former British driver turned pundit, Martin Brundle has been a closely associated figure in F1. Brundle has a wealth of experience when it comes to the sport and thus, he has recently deemed the late. Ayrton Senna as one of the greatest of all time.
Ayrton Senna was a Brazilian motorsport legend who has been often regarded as one of the most gifted drivers in the world of F1. Senna competed at the pinnacle of motorsport from 1984 to 1994, winning three world championships in 1988, 1990, and 1991, respectively.
Martin Brundle hence chose Ayrton Senna as a ‘better driver’ than seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. Moreover, he snubbed Max Verstappen, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and many others in an interview with SPORTbible. Brundle claimed that Senna was one of the most convincing talents that ever graced the world of motorsport over Lewis Hamilton, who is still driving in F1. Brundle’s conversation with the interviewer went like this.
Interviewer: Stay quiet until you hear a better driver than Lewis Hamilton. Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen, Alan Prost, Ayrton Senna. Brundle: Ayrton Senna.Martin Brundle Via SPORTbible
Martin Brundle further said that Max Verstappen currently stands as the best driver on the grid in light of his recent performances and title-winning escapades. However, Brundle has also asserted that each era has its own driver who achieved greatness in the sport, thus he feels this makes naming a single driver an unfair choice for everyone.
