Max Verstappen’s car collection : A look into the 2 time world champion’s spectacular garage

Max Verstappen has an impressive multi-million dollar car collection

Max Verstappen is currently the driver-to-beat in Formula 1. The two-time world champion dominated 2022, and won the most number of races in a single season (15). To compliment his talent and passion for speed, any F1 driver would want to have a ‘dream garage,’ a collection of some of the finest sportscars money can buy. Any petrol-head dreams of buying cars that bring a smile to their face every time they press the accelerator. And the Dutchman is no different.

Max Verstappen is known as a formidable driver in the F1 paddock, a driver who is not afraid to take risks for the massive reward, it is thus no wonder that Max is already a 35-time Grand Prix winner at the age of only 25. Hence the Dutchman sure has grown a good taste when it comes to cars after his experience at the pinnacle of motorsport and the perk of being a Formula 1 driver also provides the Dutchman with the big bank balance to maintain a respectable car collection.

Max has spent quite some time behind the wheel of road cars along with his father Jos

Despite driving some of the fastest cars in the world, Verstappen still feels the hunger for speed in his everyday life. Albeit only 25 years old, Max Verstappen seems to know his taste when it comes to road cars, with his garage being full of modern, engaging and fun cars. Max’s car collection is a testament to his driving style itself, with the 25-year-old being a fierce, precise and fast driver on the grid, it is no surprise that the garage of the Dutchman is a mark of the same.

Aston Martin Valkyrie

The multi-million dollar HyperCar designed as a collaboration between Aston Martin and Red Bull Advanced Technologies is arguably the most exciting car in Max Verstappen’s garage. Spearheaded by genius Adrian Newey, the Chief Technical Officer of the Red Bull team, the Valkyrie was a must-have for the 25-year-old, being the result of a massive partnership that provided the world with one of the fiercest beasts on 4 wheels. Providing the Dutchman with a way of being connected to Formula 1 technology even during the winter break.

The Valkyrie’s engine is the most powerful and high-revving naturally aspirated engine ever fitted to a production road car and the numbers stand true to it. The Valkyrie uses a monstrous Cosworth-built 6.5litre naturally aspirated V12 engine delivering the driver with an insane 1000hp at 10,500rpm with a maximum output of 1160hp when the F1-derived KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) is activated, providing a peak torque of 900Nm, allowing for the car to reach 0-100kmph in just 2.6 seconds. Only 85 of these were to be produced.

Ferrari Monza SP2

Sebastian Vettel once said, “Everyone is a Ferrari fan. Even if they say they’re not, they are Ferrari fans,” and it seems that this is true as, despite the intense rivalry on-track, Max Verstappen is a proud owner of the limited edition Ferrari Monza SP2, the car named after the iconic Italian track where Verstappen finally came home in P1 earlier this year. Putting the Dutchman into an elite group of owners who were selected by the Italian giant.

The SP2 is a two-seater sportscar with only 499 units to be produced, costing a whopping € 1.58 million. And the car justifies this price tag by having a tuned version of the 6.5litre V12 found in the Ferrari 812 superfast, delivering 799hp at 8500rpm and an incredible 719Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Ferrari V12 at its time. The Monza SP2 could do a 0-100kmph in a rapid 2.9 seconds. Perhaps Max is a secret admirer of the Prancing Horse and could not stop himself from getting that extraordinary V12.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The first car Max Verstappen bought after his maiden Grand Prix victory in Spain in 2016 was the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, an indicator of the Dutchman’s fondness for the German manufacturer. This track-focused high-performance version of the legendary 911 is in every car enthusiast’s sights. Verstappen owns the 991.1 GT3 RS which completed the Nuerburgring Nordschleife in an impressive 7 minutes and 20 seconds, standing true to its nature of being a handling machine.

The GT3 RS consists of a 4-litre flat-six engine, giving the driver a mighty 493hp and 469Nm of torque, making the car reach from 0-100kmph in a commendable 3.4 seconds. A Porsche is a vital addition to any person’s collection and this homologated beast not only adds to the value of Max’s garage but also holds significant emotional significance for the 25-year-old, being the gift (worth around $140,000) he bought himself for his first win. And maybe it worked as a charm for Verstappen as he went on to win 34 more races so far.

Renault R.S.01

A Renault might seem like an out-of-place car in such a fast and expensive garage but Max Verstappen knows what he’s doing, as this Renault Sport-built machine is no slouch, being the only race car not based on a production car as the R.S.01 competed in the Renault Sport Trophy before being homologated to compete in GT3. Max Verstappen proves his exquisite taste in cars, owning this beast of a machine, thanks to the old Red Bull connections with Renault.

The R.S.01 has a Nissan GT-R sourced 3.8 twin-turbo V6, tuned by the racing freaks at Nismo and Gibson technology, putting a solid 550hp at 6800rpm and 443Nm of torque at the helm of the driver. This Renault is truly capable of beating high-end sportscars on track and bringing a smile to any car enthusiast’s face. Verstappen fell in love with the car as soon as he got an opportunity to test it around on track many years ago.

Honda Civic Type-R

With the start of the Honda engine deal for the Red Bull F1 team, Max Verstappen had the chance to own the fan-loved Civic Type-R, the fun-packed car for people on a budget. The Civic Type-R was loved by Max dearly, providing a true-blood hot hatch with its 2litre in-line 4-cylinder engine providing 316hp, with the car setting new records for being the fastest around the Nuerburgring Nordschleife for front-wheel-drive cars as it set a time of 7 minutes and 43 seconds. However, the Dutchman recently sold his beloved Honda.

Aston Martin DB11

Red Bull’s partnership with British Marque opened the door for Max Verstappen to swap around a few Aston Martins other than his beloved Valkyrie, the first of which was the DB11. Albeit the engine specifications for Max’s car are not known, the Dutchman likely ended up with the 5.2litre 600hp and 700Nm V12 instead of the comparatively toned down 496hp twin-turbo V8. However, this car’s stay in the F1 driver’s garage was short-lived which became a trend for Verstappen’s Aston Martins.

Aston Martin Vantage

After spending some time with the DB11, the Dutchman decided to have a go at the Aston Martin Vantage, leaving behind the grand tourer in favor of a more competitive beast. Allegedly Verstappen owned the Mercedes-sourced twin-turbo V8 Vantage age, with a power output of 503hp and 605Nm of torque, a departure from his usual selection of V12s. Max also played a role in the development of the Vantage as part of the Red Bull partnership.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Continuing with the trend of Aston Martins, Max swapped out the Vantage in favor of a V12 DBS Superleggera, perhaps the Dutchman could not adapt to 4 fewer cylinders in his British sportscar. The DBS Superleggera is one of the most aggressive cars built by Aston Martin and is also a hell of a looker. The Superleggera has the Aston Martin 5.2litre twin-turbo V12 which has been tuned to provide 715hp and 900Nm of torque. Unfortunately, however, Max Verstappen was unable to enjoy this car to the fullest and reportedly sent it back with just a tad over 1200 miles on the odometer.

Thus that sums up the million-dollar car collection of the two-time world champion Max Verstappen. A garage, every single car enthusiast would envy, the cars in Max’s garage are more than just cars, they are an insight into the Dutchman’s character, and how the 25-year-old wants to drive outside of the F1 track.

It truly showcases Max Verstappen’s personality, with a modern, fast and fun-loving collection, not only having some of the finest cars like the Aston Martin Valkyrie and the Ferrari Monza SP2 but also delighting himself with a sporty Renault. Max Verstappen has truly mastered the art of finding good cars and we cannot wait to see how his collection evolves over time.
