Lewis Hamilton‘s intense struggles at Ferrari remained the hot topic in the paddock for quite some time. The Briton was extremely demotivated at times and even claimed that he wasn’t looking forward to the 2026 season. Now, Max Verstappen, who had quite a journey in the 2025 season as well, has opened up on Hamilton’s struggles and how it breaks his heart to see his arch-rival struggling so much in the sport.
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton put forth one of the greatest rivalries witnessed by Formula 1 back in the day. Though the two drivers often clashed heads on track, they maintained great sportsmanship between them. Now, witnessing Hamilton’s extremely poor form with Ferrari, Verstappen can only reminisce and question where it all went wrong for the seven-time champion.
Speaking on Lewis Hamilton’s current state at Ferrari, Max Verstappen noted that the 2025 season with Ferrari hadn’t been so nice for him. The Dutchman honestly accepted that it hurt his heart to witness such a state of the seven-time champion.
Hamilton had already labeled his debut year as a nightmare and had shifted his priority to the 2025 season and emerging as a winning force by then. However, amid the struggles, he shockingly claimed that he wasn’t looking forward to that either.
Further, Max Verstappen reiterated that it wasn’t nice to see such a state of Lewis Hamilton, and that it hurt his heart. However, the arch-rival believes that the 40-year-old wouldn’t quit the sport so prematurely amid the struggles. Verstappen accepted that Hamilton never gave up and would surely show up on the grid with a much better form in the new regulations of the 2026 season.

Max Verstappen is one of the most ruthless drivers on the F1 track. The Dutchman is infamous for his elbows-out driving style against everyone on the grid. Verstappen even had his moments with Lewis Hamilton, and the two crashed out quite often. However, speaking openly about his thoughts on what others had to think of him, the 28-year-old had a brutal and honest answer.

Max Verstappen was questioned about his thoughts on being a horror for his competitors. To this, Verstappen boldly claimed that the rivals definitely thought about him a lot. However, he wasn’t too concerned with others and did not pay attention to them. Further, he insisted that he did not think about them either, which just further proves the ruthless nature of the four-time champion.

The 2025 season is finally in the books, and Max Verstappen will finally have some time for himself and his family. The Dutchman recently fathered a baby girl and will surely enjoy the downtime with his girlfriend and daughter. For now, Verstappen’s goal for the 2026 season is to regain his No.1 driver number on the challenger and emerge as a championship-winning force in the coming season.
