Red Bull Racing driver, Max Verstappen qualified P4 in a challenging afternoon for the Dutchman at Silverstone. Verstappen was unable to perform to the best of his abilities after suffering damage to the floor of his RB20 during the closing stages of Q2.
Max Verstappen currently leads the championship charts this season with a whopping 237 points and seven wins across 11 races. However, the three-time world champion perhaps for the first time this campaign failed to finish on the front row in all three practice sessions during the British GP race weekend indicating a poor start for the 26-year-old.
Verstappen was outpaced by the likes of Mercedes and McLaren who were amongst the paciest cars in qualifying. But despite having damages to his floor, the Dutch driver finished fourth just four-tenths of a second slower than the Mercedes man who secured pole, George Russell.
Max: I think we optimised that with the damage to the floor. Christian Horner: Well done, Max, for that damage. P4 is very, very decent today. Well done. Max: Yeah, I gave it everything. I mean, guys, thank you very much for trying to fix it as much as we could. Yeah, great effort. It's really unlucky that we went up there with the rain. We'll go at it tomorrow.Max Verstappen in conversation with team principal Christian Horner on radio

Verstappen thanked the Red Bull squad for the repairs they made to the floor, which allowed him to maximize his results on a tricky afternoon at Silverstone. On the other hand, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton start on the front row, with Lando Norris in third in an all-British lineup at the top spots for an exciting tussle on Sunday.
Sergio Perez explains reasons behind crashing out at Q1 of British Grand Prix
Red Bul’s Sergio Perez‘s poor run of form continued at Silverstone, where the Mexican driver failed to make it beyond Q1 for the third time this season. Perez spun out to the gravel at the Copse corner during an outlap in Q1 and brought out the red flag.
I got caught out with the conditions. I tried to warm up my tyres at turn 9. I locked the rear and went off and got stuck in the gravel. It hurts because I disappointed the team and was not able to show the pace.Sergio Perez said after qualifying on Saturday

Sergio Perez has not been a good performer for Red Bull this campaign and has struggled to find pace and score points for the team. Perez came into the ongoing race weekend in desperate search of points and podiums, but an unimpressive performance by the 34-year-old in qualifying might be the cause of his jeopardy in the race.
Perez exclaimed that he was making an attempt at warming up a fresh set of tires to set a good lap time in Q1 but fell victim to the tricky conditions at Silverstone. The wet nature of the track caused the Mexican to spin out to the gravel, which ended all possible hopes for him to start in the front row for the British GP.
