Alex Albon equates Lewis Hamilton’s shock Ferrari move to Lionel Messi’s switch to Inter Miami
Lewis Hamilton confirmed his move to Ferrari ahead of the 2024 season and shocked the entire F1 paddock.

The shocking news of Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari from 2025 onwards was not believed by multiple drivers at first. Hence, among the many people hesitant about this change was Alex Albon. The Thai-British driver related Hamilton’s shocking switch to Maranello from 2025 to Football legend Lionel Messi‘s move to Inter Miami.
Albon claimed that many rumors were flourishing the paddock during the winter break, hence he ruled out Hamilton’s news as a rumor as well. However, as revealed later, the news was very much true and shocking. Hence, the 27-year-old related this move to Lionel Messi’s shocking switch to MLS league team Inter Miami from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2023.

Apart from this, Albon pointed out that Hamilton’s move had raised many questions about the drivers’ market in Formula 1. Additionally, the Briton’s switch had opened up the spot in one of the greatest teams in F1 for other drivers.
I mean, obviously, as you as you guys saw, it lays a lot of questions in the driver market as well and opens that up.
As many drivers’ contracts are ending by 2024, the changes in drivers’ lineup would be highly exciting for the fans to enjoy.

Albon highlighted that he didn’t believe the news at first and was hesitant to accept Hamilton’s move to the Italian constructor. That moment was a ‘pinch yourself’ moment as the 27-year-old felt that he was in a dream.

Additionally, Albon highlighted that this move shook Ferrari’s stock and proved just how much of a public figure the seven-time world champion is. Hence, Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was termed as one of the greatest news in the history of Formula 1 as the Briton was on the trajectory to retire as a Mercedes driver.
However, Hamilton still has one year left to race at Mercedes before joining Maranello by 2025. Hence, The 39-year-old will try his level best to score the best results in his ultimate season at Brackley. Apart from this, the team would also attempt to provide the seven-time world champion with the best opportunities possible to potentially contend for the world championship in 2024.
