“Pretty obvious weaknesses in the car,” Alex Albon hopes to help in improving the Williams racecar after 2022
Alex Albon has given his verdict on what were the shortcomings which affected Williams'performance last year and how they are trying to improve for the upcoming season.

Alexander Albon is currently gearing up to start his second season as a Williams F1 recruit after he returned to Formula 1 following his one-year exile from regular racing. Last year, he had lapped up the chance to get back on the racetracks in the blue suit, but the results were not what he had expected. Williams ended their Championship campaign in 2022 with only 8 points to their name, and in the last position in the Constructors’ Standings. Thus, Albon knows the upcoming season will be their chance at redemption.
Reflecting on the past year, Alex Albon elaborated on what he believes must change in order for Williams to perform better in the upcoming campaign. The team has already undergone a massive change from last year as they have welcomed a new leader–former Mercedes engineer James Vowles, and it is expected that Vowles’ extensive knowledge of the technicalities of the F1 racecars will help the two drivers of the British team get back into the points-scoring places in the future races.
Another person joining the team in a new role is Logan Sargeant. The American was already the Williams reserve driver, and this year, he has been promoted to regular driver status with the exit of Nicholas Latifi from the team. In his recent interview, Alex Albon talked about how he and Sargeant will work for detecting the problems in their racecar and they will also help the team find solutions so that some good points can come to the team during the course of the 2023 Championship campaign.

Alex Albon believes Williams is currently in a better position than last year

After a year at the bottom of the Championship standings, Williams needs to get back in the game and score more points in the upcoming 2023 campaign. Speaking on whether Alex Albon believes that is possible for his squad, he said, “I would say that we are definitely in a better position ourselves than we were at the end of last year, but I don’t know how that translates to the circuit. I think if we can improve on where we were last year…There were pretty obvious weaknesses in the car. We just need to make sure that we are progressing, on my side that’s scoring more points, clearly. And being in areas where we can fight more.“
In other news, Logan Sargeant will become only the first American to enter Formula 1 since 2015. Sargeant recently admitted in an interview that he was sure his F1 dreams were dead by 2021, but now, he is gearing up for his debut season as a regular racer in the king class of motorsports. Powered by the talents of Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, Williams is expected to bring one sparks to their performance in the upcoming Formula 1 2023 season.
