Formula 1 is in the middle of a four-week hiatus. But they sure know how to keep their fans in the loop. They released a new video of the drivers’ talking about their interests outside the track. And they captioned it “Apparently, there’s more to life than F1”. While the drivers opened up, it was the Williams driver Alex Albon who stole the show with his amusing response.
Albon revealed he likes gaming and confessed he is “a bit of a weird person”. However, he changed his mind quickly and said it was not weird. He reminded everyone that there are plenty of gamers nowadays. The 27-year-old cheekily called out the Esports community. He giggled and called them “nerds”. Albon also revealed that he likes to golf. It does not come as a surprise as his partner, Lily Muni is a pro golfer on the LPGA Tour. They are often spotted golfing.
Formula 1 entertains its fans through F1: Grill The Grid videos as well. They share videos of the F1 drivers engaging in Q&As on YouTube. Five years ago, they released a video of the Red Bull duo, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen answering questions like “Name the team” and “Name the circuit”. The duo scored 12 points, they were behind Sauber (13 points) and Torro Rosso (14 points). The video ended with Ricciardo congratulating Daniil Kvyat and Carlos Sainz. He also called them “nerds”. It seems like Alex Albon has taken a page out of Ricciardo’s book.
