Alpha Romeo C43
Alfa Romeo is the fourth team to launch their car after Haas, Red Bull and Williams. The trio mentioned during their launches that the car they bring to Bahrain for the pre-season testing will be a bit different to the one shown. Alfa Romeo earlier today pulled off the cover of their C43 and revealed their new model.
The launch event was held in Switzerland. The C43 was unveiled and the spotlight was on the livery. An astonishing combination of Black and Red. Previously it had a white element to it. This is the first livery change for a team in 2023 so far, Haas, Red Bull and Williams stuck to their old colours and just played with the sponsor placements on their car. It is quite similar to Haas though in regard to the black paint respectively.
The Alfa Romeo C43 will make its first appearance on track in Barcelona in the coming week. The car features their new title sponsor “Stake”. Apart from the livery, the car’s aerodynamics have been developed. It features new bodywork and cooling packages. The team’s technical director, Jan Monchaux is quite proud of the teamwork. “This car is an evolution of last year, reflecting the new regulations and introducing major changes in the areas where we found improvements to be needed”

The team’s former partner Orlen moved to AlphaTauri earlier during the winter break. Robert Kubica’s time with the team also had come to an end. These, however, are not the only changes for Alfa Romeo. Andreas Seidl, the former team principal of McLaren took a new role as the CEO of Sauber Motorsport. Alessandro Alunni Bravi was appointed as the team’s representative.
In order to increase the performance of their C43, the team made changes. The focus has been on the rear end while the front will see improvements throughout the season. Alpha Romeo admitted that they have been putting in a lot of work to ensure the car is better than its predecessor.
There is a lot of work to be done in terms of building the team. Audi will arrive in 2026 as they bought a stake in the company. They will be the power unit supplier for Alpha Romeo. The driver line up for this team are Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu. They remain teammates from last season. The reserve driver is Theo Pourchaire, the 2022 F2 runner-up. The team is sorted and is ready for C43 to make its debut in Barcelona.
