AlphaTauri pairs up with local brand to promote Japanese sci-fi franchise ‘Gundam’ merch ahead of Las Vegas GP
The Las Vegas GP will see AlphaTauri partner up with a local brand called Bandai Namco for some customized merchandise as well as special helmets for the team drivers with the brand's logo.
Red Bull’s sister squad AlphaTauri have been landing sponsorship deals on the regular nowadays. Hugo Boss is slated to take the helms of the team in the near future, but before that, AlphaTauri have joined hands with a temporary partner for the Las Vegas GP. With the race looming near, the teams are expected to release their customized liveries for the most expensive F1 race in history. Not just the livery but AlphaTauri have decided to release some special edition merchandise to mark their appearance in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
As they are biding their time until the spectacular Vegas Strip becomes the seat for the world’s costliest F1 race, AlphaTauri have partnered up with a local brand called Bandai Namco. The Japanese entertainment company will be pairing up for a one-race deal with the Faenza-based outfit. To promote their sponsorship, AlphaTauri will be releasing a video with Yuki Tsunoda in a specially stylized racing suit that is inspired by ‘Gundam’, a Japanese science fiction franchise.
Apart from the promo video, both the AlphaTauri racers will be sporting helmets with the Bandai Namco logo visible on them. This might prove to be a massive deal for the brand as they will have two pop-up stores around the Las Vegas circuit. As the tickets have almost all been sold out, around 100,000 people are expected to visit the circuit each day. Thus, their local shop will get huge exposure by stirring the love for Japanese sci-fi amongst the pop culture fanatics.
AlphaTauri Marketing Lead welcomes their newest one-race sponsor and embraces ‘the Gundam spirit’
In recent times, Japanese fictional comics and Anime have become hugely popular amongst all age groups. Cashing in on this opportunity, AlphaTauri’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Fabian Wrabetz, has entered into a partnership with a local Japanese merchandise brand. They will together sport ‘Gundam’-inspired merch to catch the attention of the massive crowd at the Las Vegas GP.
Speaking on the pairing up of Red Bull’s sister team with the local Japanese outlet for an internationally-famous fiction franchise, Wrabetz sounded quite elated at the opportunity, as per Blackbookmotorsport.
Gundam is a globally recognised and beloved media franchise with passionate fans in every corner of the world. We immediately embraced the Gundam spirit and are delighted to welcome them as a partner of Scuderia AlphaTauri for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Las Vegas GP will be kickstarted with a just-for-fun golf match between professional golfers and the F1 racers. This will be live streamed on Netflix as the streaming giant are calling it the first-ever live sports experience to be aired on their platform. Thus, it can very well be said the race on the Vegas Strip is going to blow up with the enormous attention that it will get as an entertainment extravaganza.
