Mercedes‘ 2023 season was not at all how the team would have wanted it to go. Even though the Brackley outfit finally managed to surpass Ferrari by 3 points to grab the second position on the World Constructors’ Championship Standings, the results hardly spoke of Mercedes’ success in the campaign. The team, known for holding the record of eight consecutive Constructors’ title wins between 2014 and 2021, could not even attain a single race victory last year.

While the Silver Arrows had been a leading force during the 2010s when F1’s turbo-hybrid era was going on, a slight tweak in the rules at the start of the 2022 season saw Mercedes have a huge fall from grace. Now, the team only seem to be searching for success amongst the shadows as their cars have not been any close to competing with Red Bull‘s rocket ships in the last two years. However, Mercedes’ results have not proven to hold back American rapper Will.i.am’s aspirations for the team.

I’m super optimistic, they (Mercedes) have an awesome team, they know what’s at stake […] If Lewis gets a win, that’s historical. It’s gonna take a long time for somebody to beat once Lewis has that in the bag. This is a legendary moment, for Lewis, for the sport… and when Lewis does [win], it’s gonna take a long time for Max to catch up.

Christian Horner recounts the time when Lewis Hamilton’s ‘good grace’ surprised him

The epic clash between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen at the grand finale of the 2021 F1 Championship in Abu Dhabi will go down in the history of the sport as one of the most exciting races ever. But even though Lewis Hamilton seemed to be in a brilliant form throughout the race, there were some controversial moments which led to Max Verstappen snatching his debut title, this defeating Lewis, who was targeting his record-setting eighth World Championship.

But recently, Christian Horner reminisced Lewis Hamilton’s attitude after losing the Abu Dhabi race to Max. The Briton recalled that Lewis seemed absolutely composed and he was even courteous enough to shake hands with Horner off-camera despite his heart-breaking loss.

I felt the way that Lewis handled that disappointment after the race, hats off to him. I shook his hand in the driver’s room after the race and he had the good grace to say well done.

In other news, Lewis Hamilton has recently teased one of his off-the-track ventures at his most recent interview for Tommy Hilfiger. The British.sports star said that he might have a new clothing line coming up with the American designer. But as of now, no official confirmation has come out.
