Lando Norris, the McLaren Formula 1 driver, has rapidly established himself as one of the best drivers on the modern F1 grid. He has impressed one and all with his exploits since making his debut and is seen by several as the man with the caliber to do great things in the sport and win a few world championships.
Norris debuted at the pinnacle of motor racing in 2019 and has since been honing his skills as an F1 driver. McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, is immensely pleased with what Norris has achieved so far in his career and has very recently claimed that he can compete against the lights of former world championships. Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher.
While shedding light on the same in detail, Stella said, as reported by GPFans, “The ability to perceive, isolate all the little things that happen from the point of view of him as the driver, or from what is happening with the car, is quite impressive. I think the ingredients for Lando to be successful, as these drivers have been, are coming together. And when it comes to natural speed, I think Lando can compete with some of these big names like Schumacher or Fernando Alonso.”
“The real success factor is making your racing vehicle bigger and bigger, creating as much adaptability as possible, because you’re never going to have the perfect car, you’re never going to have the perfect situation. It may happen, you may have a dominant car, but this is the best possible scenario.” The McLaren boss has left no stone unturned in praising Lando Norris.

Lando Norris has got immense competition at McLaren from Oscar Piastri
While Andrea Stella has showered immense praise on Lando Norris as an F1 driver, the latter was not really challenged at McLaren during the past years. It is only since the arrival of Oscar Piastri that Norris has started coming under some pressure and has felt the need to be at the top of his game at almost every race weekend.

Moreover, to put things into perspective, Norris outperformed his young Australian teammate during the Qatar Grand Prix weekend. During the whole course of the three-day event, he was second best to Piastri, and this was one of the main reasons why he had to settle for a third-place finish during the main Qatar Grand Prix.
