Carlos Sainz, the three-time Grand Prix winner, has become one of the most talked about topics in the F1 paddock. He has been on it from the start of the 2024 campaign and seeing his performances, has amassed interest from various top outfits.
Amongst teams like Mercedes and Red Bull, it has reportedly come to light, as per Motorsport, the Silverstone-based Aston Martin F1 team has also joined the Carlos Sainz bandwagon. Certain ‘factions’ within the team are plotting to hire him for 2025 in place of two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso!

The Spaniard joined the team in 2023 and his contract is up at the end of the ongoing campaign. Alonso himself has quite a few options for next year and amidst all this, Aston Martin is dwelling on bringing Sainz on board to partner Lance Stroll on the team for next year.
However, the way things are at the moment, it is highly likely that Fernando Alonso will continue with Aston for next year. Sainz, on the other hand, could see himself racing for Red Bull or the Brackley-based Mercedes in 2025.
Carlos Sainz feels his speed on hard tires helped him secure P3 at Suzuka
While Aston Martin is reportedly looking to secure Sainz for the 2025 F1 season, he had a tremendous outing during last week’s Japanese GP. Despite all the challenges, he was able to secure a solid third-place finish.

The 29-year-old feels his stint on the hard tires did the trick.
I knew I needed a very big delta to approach Lando and Charles, and in the end we managed. I was quick on that hard tyre, I really liked how the hard gave me a good feeling to push, and I could get the moves done and get that podium.Carlos Sainz said in an interview with F1
