F1 Azerbaijan GP: “Just ban Max and Adrian Newey” – Fans urge FIA to tweak the rules to stop Red Bull domination in F1
Fans welcome the idea of F1 regulation that will hamper Red Bull's advantage on the grid.
Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen after the F1 Azerbaijan GP
Red Bull Racing has now won all four races of the 2023 F1 season so far. The Austrian team has virtually no real threat in the Azerbaijan GP despite Charles Leclerc taking the Pole position. Both Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen have won two races each. As the two seem to be the only contenders for the F1 world championship this season, something that was not well received by fans.
A user on Twitter floated a fake announcement. The user mentioned that changes would be made in F1 due to the four back-to-back Red Bull wins having decreased viewership figures. Moreover, the user claimed that the new F1 Sprint format was not liked by most of the audience, including the drivers. Subsequently, new rules were supposed to be brought in to stop Christian Horner‘s team from winning every race.
The user tweeted that from the next race onwards, both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had to run on wet weather tires in a bid to give a chance to rivals, be it Mercedes, Aston Martin, or Ferrari. The tweet read, “The FiA have decided to force Redbull to run the Azerbaijan GP race only with sets of inters and full wets in an attempt to reduce the gap and bring Ferrari , Mercedes and Aston Martin closer to Max and RB.”

“All rule changes did was ensure Red Bull would win” – Fans frustrated with Red Bull’s run of victories
Twitter fans welcomed the idea of such a rule that would hinder Red Bull’s prospects. One fan mentioned how they don’t even want to watch the sport anymore as the 2022 regulations helped Red Bull gain a massive lead. The fan said, “I am not bothering to watch. All the rule changes did was ensure Red Bull would win.” Moreover, another fan brought up the Milton-Keynes breaching of the F1 cost cap. They wrote, “Of course no one supports a cheating team.”
Additionally, one user surfaced the idea that the sport should simply ban Verstappen and aero genius Adrian Newey to stop the formidable Red Bull force. The user replied, “imho, they should just ban Max and Adrian Newey from F1.” While another fan stated how F1 becomes boring no matter who wins, be it, Lewis Hamilton or Max. The fan commented, “F1 is boring, Schumacher made it boring, Lewis took it into a coma and now Verstappen and Redbull killed it. It’s boring”
Thus, fans don’t mind the introduction of regulations that could hinder the performance of the Milton Keynes team. However, the Austrian team could only dominate because its rivals couldn’t make the same level of progress. Subsequently, it cannot be considered that Red Bull is at fault for bagging every win so far; rather, their rivals must catch up.
