Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 World Champion, has put the whole motorsports world on notice since last year’s campaign. He has been performing in a league of his own. Amidst his ever-growing stature in the sport, former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has snubbed Alain Prost and Lewis Hamilton in favor of Verstappen as the best-ever F1 driver.

Max Verstappen had to fight tooth and nail during the 2021 season to secure his first World title. However, since then, he has never looked back and has gone from strength to strength every year. During the ongoing campaign, he is all set to lift his third consecutive Formula 1 World Championship.

Bernie Ecclestone is a huge admirer of the Dutchman, and while talking about him recently, he told DailyMailUK, “Max is the best driver ever. No doubts. I used to say, Alain Prost. Now I would say Max. He’s the greatest. He is the brightest with regard to getting the best out of the car. He doesn’t muck around. He gets right on the programme. In my list, he is above Lewis Hamilton.”

He added, “Lewis is obviously super-super bright, super-super talented. Lewis understands people and gets the best out of them, whereas Max gets the best out of the car. He’s very different from Max. When Lewis stops racing, he can get into a different world – entertainment or whatever – but that won’t be the way Max could go.”

Max Verstappen has been immensely dominant in 2023

While Bernie Ecclestone has left no stone unturned in applauding Max Verstappen for his exploits at the pinnacle of motor racing, the latter has taken his dominance to a whole new league this year. The ongoing campaign is 16 rounds down, and Verstappen has already amassed 12 Grand Prix victories with 14 podium finishes.

Until the Singapore GP, he was on a winning run of 10 consecutive races and only lost out on the victory because of some gremlins that the RB19 was struggling with throughout the weekend. Otherwise, the 25-year-old has not even put a foot wrong during the 2023 Formula 1 season.

Max Verstappen has quite comfortably kept all his competitors at bay and, considering this, would look to get back to winning ways during tomorrow’s Japanese GP. The hype around Verstappen is immense in Suzuka, and several eyes will be on his impressive exploits during the main race.
