Red Bull Racing are coming into 2023 as the reigning World Champions, having wrapped both titles in 2022 with multiple races left to spare. The Milton Keynes-based team has been taking massive strides forwards in recent years. After finishing runner-up to Mercedes in 2020 and 2021, Red Bull capitalized on the regulation change in 2022 and beat their competition by quite a margin.

Red Bull has become a modern legend in just 18 years of operation, being compared to the likes of historic giants such as Mercedes, Ferrari and Williams. Their success, in part, has to be credited to their outstanding selection of drivers and engineers alike. Some would say, Red Bull currently employs, arguably the sport’s best driver in Max Verstappen and the best technical director in Adrian Newey.

While Red Bull have made a mark on the sport due to their on-track successes, they are also highly rated for having some of the best Team Kits in the paddock. Team Merchandise is a significant part of any sporting event. It contributes in a substantial fashion to the team’s financial success. Team Kits allow fans to dress just like their favorite drivers and show their support. While Red Bull are known to produce excellent kits consistently, they seem to have missed their mark with the 2023 Team Jersey.

In a leaked picture on Twitter, the potential 2023 Red Bull team kit can be seen. In the picture, all old sponsors are mentioned with the exception of Puma. Notably, Red Bull and Puma terminated their long-term partnership in January 2023. They with British clothing brand Castore to produce their merchandise. Castore has been involved in F1 for a while, the brand has been producing merchandise for the McLaren Formula One team since 2021.

In the leaked picture, Red Bull’s regular colors can be observed with a lighter shade and some designing in the sleeves. Fans also pointed out the red stripes on either side which seem rather peculiar. Unsurprisingly, Puma’s logo has been replaced by Castore’s in the top-left of the t-shirt. One fan also went to the trouble of redesigning the front of the polo t-shirt in order to remove the oddly placed half stripes.

This is Red Bull’s first collaboration with the British brand. While fans on the internet have clearly expressed their disdain for the jersey, the team are yet to confirm if this is the actual Team Kit for 2023. Castore have had issues with maintaining quality in the past with McLaren’s merchandise. It will be intriguing to see if similar issues are faced during the course of this partnership.
