Rain-soaked Suzuka GP 2022

Heading into the 2022 Suzuka GP, Verstappen needed to outscore Charles Leclerc by 8 points and his teammate Sergio Perez by 6 points. Verstappen went on to win the race ahead of Perez and Leclerc. However, the problem was that less than 75% of the race distance was covered during the race due to an extended red flag period. It was believed that because of this, full points will not be awarded and Verstappen would miss out on the opportunity to clinch his second World Championship title by only 1 point. However, a rule change in 2022 meant that full points were awarded by the FIA and Verstappen managed to win his second title in Suzuka with four more races to go.

Verstappen is not the only connection that Hemsworth shares with Formula 1. The Australian actor had played the role of British legend James Hunt in the critically acclaimed 2013 movie ‘Rush’. His role as the British F1 racer was widely applauded by critics and fans alike. The movie highlighted the rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt, in the backdrop of the 1976 F1 season, and is a must-watch for any F1 fan.
