Daniel Ricciardo was once regarded as the hottest property in all of motorsport at one point. Each and every Formula One team wanted the Aussie driver to join their team. However, the Honey Badger chose to say with Red Bull till the end of the 2018 F1 season. In a shocking decision, Ricciardo revealed that he would be joining Renault for the 2019 F1 season on a multi year deal.
After 2 season with the Enstone based team, Daniel Ricciardo did not get the car that the team had promised him. Even though they scored a few podiums together, it wasn’t enough for the Aussie. For the 2021 season, Ricciardo joined McLaren to be partnered up with Lando Norris to lead their charge. Sadly, it was clear that this partnership was not gonna work.
At the end of the 2022 F1 season Daniel Ricciardo announced that he has parted ways with McLaren. This left the Aussie rider without a place in the pinnacle of motorsport. However, all hope wasn’t lost as Daniel joined Red Bull racing to become their reserve driver alongside Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. However, his future in the pinnacle of Motorsports still remains in question.

In an interview with ESPN, here is what the Aussie rider had to say. For now, the driver does not want to worry about his future. “I’m gonna take my time with it, I don’t wanna kind of jump to a decision early in the season,” stressed Ricciardo, who wants above all to enjoy his return to the Austrian formation. “I just wanna let it happen,” he said.
It will be interesting to see whether Daniel Ricciardo can score an F1 seat for the 2024 season. The Honey Badger will assist Red Bull in simulator operations and work with the engineers to ensure that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have all the tools required to retain both the championship titles. However, it is nice to see Ricciardo being reunited with his old team.
