Former Managing Director of F1, Ross Brawn claimed that he would like to see someone new in the Red Bull outfit for the new season. He claimed that this was because of the lack of competition that Checo provided his counterpart Max Verstappen.

What I want to see quite frankly is someone more competitive in the other car because unfortunately, Sergio’s not putting up much competition for Max.
Brawn told talkSPORT radio (H&T:planetf1.com).

The Briton also claimed that the sport gets boring if there’s no competition at the top level for the first spot. Hence, Brawn believed that Red Bull needed a lineup change for the next season to potentially challenge Max Verstappen more. Subsequently, Ross Brawn recalled the ‘Rosberg vs Hamilton’ battle at Mercedes.

And even when you get a dominant car, if you can get someone in the other car who’s giving them a hard time [it can be exciting]. We think of Rosberg and Hamilton, that was a great year and a year when Mercedes were dominating.

Ross Brawn also talked about McLaren vs Red Bull

The Ex-director also showered his opinions on the newfound challenge that McLaren is giving to Red Bull. It is evident from the past few races that McLaren is seriously challenging Red Bull with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri keeping the Red Bulls honest and on their feet according to Brawn.

The 68-year-old claimed that the competition will surely reset over the winter break and be evident in the next season. But despite the recent competition from McLaren, Brawn also acknowledged the fact that Red Bull’s domination might continue for several years as they have the advantage of being able to start the car design earlier than other teams.

Regardless of the speculations, Sergio Perez has a contract with Red Bull till the end of 2024, and the contractual situation is supposed to take place. Checo is also improving his performances over the weekends and with just two more races left, Perez needs to be on his A-game for the races.
