“Heartbreaking,” F1 drivers pay their respects to the tragic death of young Dutch driver Dilano Van’t Hoff

The world of motorsport has suffered a massive blow. Dutch racing driver Dilano Van’t Hoff died after a tragic incident in the Formula Regional European Championship race at Spa-Francorchamps. The 18-year-old raced for MP Motorsport in the series and died after a severe accident in race 2. F1 drivers sent their prayers to Van’t Hoff’s family.
Max Verstappen posted a picture of his fellow countryman on Instagram. The two-time world champion was deeply saddened by this calamity. The Dutchman expressed his condolences to the 18-year-old’s family. He wrote, “Extremely sad to hear the news about Dilano today.. I want to send my condolences to Dilano’s family and loved ones. Rest in peace.”
Moreover, Carlos Sainz took to Twitter to express his grief over the death of the young Dutch talent. The Spanish driver insisted that such a tragic event impacts the entire racing world. Sainz shared condolences to the family of Dilano Van’t Hoff. He stated, “It is an extremely sad day for the entire motorsport family and my thoughts and condolences go to his family and friends. RIP Dilano.”
George Russell shared the news of Van’t Hoff’s death on Instagram. The Mercedes driver said, “I am truly saddened to hear of Dilano’s passing today in Spa. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.” Another British driver, Lando Norris, wrote, “Heartbreaking. All of my thoughts are with Dilano’s loved ones right now. All my thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. RIP young champ!’ Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanty shared his thoughts with the Van’t Hoff family. Zhou stated, “Saddened by the news from Spa. Thoughts are with Dilano’s family and team. RIP.”
Additionally, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso sent love to the members of the young Dutch driver. Alonso said, “Terrible news. Rest in Peace Dilano. All our love to his family and all who were close to him.” Haas driver Kevin Magnussen posted his thoughts on Instagram. The Danish driver said, “Devastated to learn of the passing of Dilano Van’t Hoff. Sincerest condolences to family, team, and friends.’
Williams drivers, Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant sent their thoughts and prayers to the Van’t Hoff family. Albon wrote, “Very saddened to hear this news. Thus, the entire F1 paddock is devastated by the death of a promising young talent. Dilano Van’t Hoff had a lot more to achieve in the racing world for many more years to come.
