“Fighting for the ugliest team names” – Fans are NOT happy with the rumored new titles for AlphaTauri and Sauber

The Formula 1 2023 season break is currently underway. Even though there has not been any Grand Prix since the Abu Dhabi season finale in November of last year, it has hardly been quiet in F1 town. The fans have been witness to a huge controversy involving Toto Wolff and his wife Susie, and they have also seen a shocking change in the leadership structure at Haas. After leading the team for almost a decade since joining them in 2014, Guenther Steiner got himself ousted for offering views that contrasted those of Gene Haas’. Moreover, there has also been a change in the naming of two of the existing F1 teams–Sauber and AlphaTauri.
Sauber’s contract with their title sponsor Alfa Romeo ran its course after five years of successful partnership. At the end of the 2023 season, it was announced that Sauber would be taking on a new name with a new title sponsor since Alfa Romeo would be closing its operations in Formula 1. The team onboarded Stake.com, an Australian-Curaçaoan online casino company and thus, they got renamed to Stake F1 Racing Team. While fans did not take kindly to the renaming of Sauber from Alfa Romeo F1 Team to Stake, they got another surprise from another team.
AlphaTauri ended their 2023 campaign on a discouraging note by finishing at the third-last spot with very less points. The team, most prominent for being a sister squad to current F1 Champion Red Bull, will thus be undergoing several changes to see a complete overhaul in their results. As a first step, AlphaTauri will have a new name in 2024. They have not officially revealed their new name. However, Sports Illustrated has reported that some internet sleuths found out very recently that the team’s Instagram username has been changed to @visacashapprb, which is believed to be an acronym for ‘Visa Cashapp Racing Bulls’. As the news went viral, fans started pouring in with their comparisons of which new team name sounds worse–Stake F1 Racing Team or Visa Cashapp Racing Bulls.
Most fans have opined that Racing Bulls will take away the award for the worst team name in F1 history
Formula 1 has been around ever since the 90s, and it has seen the rise and fall and remodeling of several teams too. Nonetheless, fans believe that the most recent changes in the team nomenclature have been the worst in the history of motorsports. They compared the two names of AlphaTauri and Sauber that will reportedly be used in the 2024 Championship campaign. Moreover, most of them have given their opinions that while Stake F1 Racing Team still sounds decent, Visa Cashapp Racing Bulls is the absolute worst team name ever.

Changing the team name is supposed to be AlphaTauri’s first step towards attempting to get better results in Formula 1. However, their biggest concern at the moment should be their racecar for the new season. They will feature a considerably favorable driver lineup consisting of Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda. However, if they fail to produce a challenger who is worthy of fighting for the points, all the changes in the team will be futile in the end.
