“Mommy issues or something” – Fans post hilarious comments as Max Verstappen slides into Susie Wolff’s comments section
Max Verstappen and Susie Wolff seem to have been friends back in 2014 when Max left a comment on Susie's post as she went for a vacation.
The world of Formula 1 has some great friendships, amazing competition and its fair share of rivalries too. And one of the biggest of all rivalries in F1 is between the two teams–Mercedes and Red Bull. While the Silver Arrows have had eight years at the top of their game during the turbo-hybrid era in the pinnacle of motorsports, their dominance got destroyed during the 2022 F1 campaign. And it was Red Bull’s Max Verstappen who scored his second World Championship win and earned the crucial points that made Red Bull the Constructors’ Champion that year.
Owing to the rivalry between their respective teams, it is no surprise that Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner and Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff do not see eye to eye for several reasons. While Wolff does not go public with his scathing comments too often, Horner is definitely the more outspoken one amongst the two of them. He has time and again dragged Mercedes and Toto Wolff in his comments. But it seems, even though Red Bull and Mercedes are at odds, Max Verstappen is quite good friends with Toto’s wife Susie Wolff.
In a sudden turn of events, some fans have unearthed an old Susie Wolff post on X from 2014 where the current F1 Academy MD said, “Read to go on holiday!” And quite surprisingly, Max Verstappen was the one to reply to Wolff’s post. He wrote to her, “Have fun” and even accompanied his wish with an emoji. This crossover between the Red Bull marqueé driver and the wife of Mercedes‘ Team Principal has raised a few eyebrows amongst the F1 fanbase.
Fans believe Max Verstappen might have been setting himself up for a Mercedes seat by wishing Susie
Max Verstappen entered Formula 1 in 2015 when he was only 17 years old and he later became a regular driver for Scuderia Toro Rosso, Red Bull’s sister team, in 2016. But in the recently unearthed post from 2014, Max can be seen wishing Susie Wolff, who is Mercedes chief Toto’s wife. This has led some fans to believe Max was siding up for a chance at a seat at Mercedes by being on Susie’s good books. And other fans have even conspired that Max’s interest in Susie is the reason why her husband does not life him.
Here are the things fans have said about Max Verstappen’s comment on Susie Wolff’s post–
In other news, Susie Wolff has been in recent news for calling out the investigation FIA placed her on because of allegations of ‘conflict of interest’. She used some grave words like misogyny and it drew the attention of several fans to the condition of female racers in motorsports. FIA later dropped the investigation, but Susie confirmed she is still looking into who instigated the investigation on her in the first place.
