“They all copied each others’ homeworks” – Fans react as F1 teams give exact same statement to deny complaining against Toto Wolff to FIA

The Formula 1 world is currently in turmoil over a possible clash between the FIA and Mercedes. They have not been on the best of terms ever since the controversial end to the 2021 World Championship battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Their duel at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix decided Max as the Champion even though some believe it was the then FIA Race Director Michael Masi‘s poor decisions that caused Lewis to be robbed of his record-setting eighth Drivers’ Championship title. And now, the FIA have placed Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff and his wife Susie under investigation for ‘conflict of interest’.

While Mercedes released a statement denying that the FIA got in touch with them before announcing the investigation on Toto and Susie Wolff, other teams provided radio silence on the matter. Susie even came out to totally deny all the allegations as she blamed misogyny in motorsports for the complainants to try to bring her down despite her role as the Head of the F1 Academy series. And at long last, the rival teams came out with their own statements almost 24 hours after the FIA announced the Compliance department would be investigating the matter.

The uncanny fact that the fans have noticed is that all the team statements are exactly the same. This has incited several reactions from the F1 followers who are simply baffled at all the action going on in the world of the pinnacle of motorsports even though it is officially the winter break. And thus, they have posted their thoughts on the whole fiasco as they wondered who might have actually complained to the FIA regarding Toto Wolff and his wife being privy to insider information that should not have left the Formula One Management quarters.

Fans even conspire that Mercedes filed complaint against their Team Principal Toto Wolff to get rid of him

While all the teams have come out with the exact same statement to deny the fact that they complained against Toto Wolff to the FIA, Mercedes have not. They did release a statement as soon as the FIA announced they would be placing Toto Wolff and Susie Wolff on investigation, but it addressed the fact that the rule-making body has just given a ‘generic statement’ and it did not mention the complaints at all.

This has led some fans to think that Mercedes themselves might have put in a word about Toto Wolff to the FIA to get rid of their Boss. Here is what the fans have had to say about who the complainant might be:

In other news, Toto Wolff has not commented on the entire fiasco with the FIA involving him and his wife. But he did mention that he is not in aggreement with the six Sprint Races that are going to be held in 2024 because he feels that they ‘dilute the value of the Grands Prix’. He even proposed that there should be different Qualifying sessions for the Sprints and the Main Races to keep the two completely separate.
