“Even if he’s caught cheating, he’ll be let off lightly” – Fans react as Red Bull man proposes girlfriend at their garage, digs out cost cap scandal

A Grand Prix weekend is one of the toughest times for the crew of each participating F1 team. But this time around, happiness flourished at the Red Bull garage in a rare display of love as one of their employees proposed marriage to his girlfriend, and she said yes! Thus, in place of the conventional “Red Bull gives you wings” line, it was all about “Red Bull gives you rings” on Friday.

The moment when the proposal happened, it was recorded for the fans and as the video made it to the internet, Twitter exploded with fans’ reactions. While most of the social media users applauded the couple for their sweet exchange, some critics commented that proposing in front of the Red Bull garage meant the man would later on cheat and get away with it. This comment is, of course, in relation to RBR’s cost cap scandal where the team went way over the specified ceiling for expenditure in 2021.

As a repercussion for their cost cap breach, Red Bull had to pay a penalty of $7 million to the FIA. Fans believe the British team got away with such a massive cheating incident with just a slap on the wrist since Max Verstappen‘s F1 title was not rescinded. Now, as Aggie and Valerie (names might have been misspelt) got their proposal moment in front of the F1 team garage, fans reckon Valerie would take a page out of Red Bull’s book and cheat on Valerie and get away with it just as easily.

During the paddock tour at the Circuit dé Barcelona-Catalunya, SkySports’ Craig Slater was witness to a sweet moment as Red Bull employee Valerie proposed to his girlfriend Aggie, who is stationed at the team factory in Latvia, right in front of the team garage. The proposal was complete with a big “Yes!” from Aggie.

When Valerie was asked why he chose such an unusual place as the Red Bull garage to pop the question to his girlfriend, he said, “Because Red Bull can! And it’s really hard to make a surprise to her and I think ‘today is the day when I should do it’ because two things, the paddock tour and a proposal.”

In other news, Red Bull have consistently won all six of the Grands Prix that have been held in this season till date. As the team seems to be in a league of their own, the two RBR drivers are currently in a fight against each other for the F1 title, with Max Verstappen leading the way with a 39-point advantage over Sergio Perez. In Spain, Checo will be looking to reverse the situation while Max will try to fend off all attacks against his place atop the Championship Standings.
