“Lewis to Aston Martin at the end of the season confirmed!,” Fans sleuth out crazy theories as Lewis Hamilton posts goodbye message to James Vowles
Every Formula 1 fan is quite familiar with what has gone down in history as the most famous radio message in the sport ever–“Valtteri, it’s James.” It is a well-known fact that Mercedes have always placed their faith in Lewis Hamilton as the Briton has brought them six World Drivers’ Championship titles, and to make sure he gets the advantages every single time, one of the team’s engineers, James, had to do the tough task of asking their secon racer Valtteri Bottas to step aside and let Lewis Hamilton through. And now, that James from the radio message is bidding goodbye to the Stuttgart-based outfit.
James Vowles had been associated with Mercedes for 20 long years, and now he is set to debut as the Team Principal for Williams in 2023. Williams has had some massive changes in their team in the last few years as their ownership changes hands from the legendary British family of the Williams to the US investment firm Dorilton Capital in 2020. At that time, Jost Capito was selected as the Team Principal but he stepped down from his role ahead of the upcoming season.
As former Mercedes engineer James Vowles has accepted the offer to take Capito’s place as the new Williams Team Principal, he will be leaving behind 20 years’ worth of memories at his previous team. In an attempt to bid farewell to Vowles, Lewis Hamilton shared a heartfelt message for the 43-year-old on his Instagram stories. And when the message was posted on Reddit, the F1 community poured in their comments on it!

Fans believe the “Aston Martin green” background to Lewis Hamilton’s farewell post has some hidden significance
Thanking James Vowles for his 20 years of service to Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton bade the Briton goodbye with a story posted on his Instagram. And fervent Redditors found it interesting that Lewis chose the bottle green colour that is often associated with Aston Martin as the background for his message. And some of them even pointed out that this might mean the 37-year-old will be moving to one of the midfield teams in the near future and it will most probably be Aston Martin who take him up.
Here is what the fans had to say about Lewis Hamilton’s message to James Vowles after the announcement of the latter’s move to Williams–
In the upcoming season, Lewis Hamilton has agreed to stay on with Mercedes despite various rumors claiming that he might leave for some other team or might even retire. Last year, Sebastian Vettel, who is two years younger than Lewis, decided to step away from F1 to focus on his personal life but Lewis is still adamant about earning an eighth World Championship. Thus, the Briton will surely be seen around the F1 paddocks for much longer until he gets his hands on the WDC cup for a record-breaking eighth time.
