Red Bull is making history as they are racing through the 2023 season completely unchallenged. As they aim for a perfect run with just ten races remaining, rival teams’ frustration has been building up for quite some time now. Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff’s recent comments questioning Red Bull’s success were received with heavy criticism as well. However, this is not the case for Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso who claims to be ‘motivated’ by the team.
Alonso is currently third in the WDC standings behind both Red Bull drivers. When asked about whether he feels frustrated for constantly losing out to Max Verstappen, he revealed that he finds motivation in his losses as he aims to get to that level. He claimed that Verstappen’s ‘connection’ to the car is very good, and he maintains that in each and every race, something which Alonso has not been able to achieve this season.
“No, it’s motivation to get to that level. On some weekends we are at that level, but in our window of performance like at Zandvoort, Monaco, or Canada, I think the team is just struggling [to get] the 100% out of the car with the perfect strategy, pit stops, starts,” said Alonso, as per Racing News 365.

Fernando Alonso lauds Red Bull for their flawless season
Red Bull sits alone at the top of the grid right now. With a 310-point lead in the Constructors’ championship and a one-two position in the WDC Standings, no team comes even close to them at the moment. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso has nothing but praise for them as he calls them ‘outstanding’.
Alonso claimed that Red Bull has the best pitstops, fastest car, and best tire management on the grid. He also said that Red Bull and Max Verstappen are ‘connected’ this season. He praised Verstappen for not making any significant mistakes while labeling the Dutch as the best in qualifying and racing.
“There is not one single aspect of that car that can be matched at the moment for anyone,” said Alonso. Even the standings are proof of the Red Bulls’ dominance this season. While the opposition will be putting in place strategies to stop them, fans and the team bask in glorious days.
