The season’s end marked a very unstable performance from the Maranello outfit of Ferrari. The team finished a mediocre P3 in the constructors after making major mistakes in multiple races in the season. However, the two driver’s contracts might be extended beyond it’s current expiration as hinted by President John Elkann.

The Italian President John Elkann presented certainty over the two current drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz driving for the Maranello outfit beyond their contracts. Although, Elkann did not reveal any confirmations for the two drivers, but his words have some sort of assurance about the future of the two drivers in the team together.

Leclerc and Sainz will certainly stay at Ferrari.

Elkann said as reported F1 journalist Guiliano Duchessa on X.

Leclerc also touched on the topic put forth by Elkann and insisted that there was no priority to finalize beyond their contracts. He further exclaimed that every driver has considered the different options before renewal. The Monegasque also renounced his love for Ferrari and his goals leading into the next season of Formula 1.

Of course, I think every driver has considered their different options, once they get the [possibility], But I have a huge love of Ferrari. And my first target and my first dream is to become a world champion with Ferrari, more than anything else. So, if there's a slight opportunity for it to happen, I will have no doubt about pushing to stay here at least.

Charles Leclerc highlighted the priority for the next season

Despite the talks about the contract expansion for the next season, the Monegasque isn’t too worried about that. Leclerc talked about the priority for the next season and highlighted that a new contract wasn’t on his priority list for the next season. He stated that the team wasn’t concerned about extending the contracts for the two drivers before the next season.

Additionally, Leclerc exclaimed that the importance for the next season was to be as competitive as possible and return back to the team’s winning ways. Despite the current degrading form from the team, the 26-year-old renounced his love and faith in the team’s capability to score victories again in the next season after suffering from a highly mediocre season this time around.

Ferrari alongside their drivers have shown great pace and improvement. If the team can amend their strategies and string together better sessions in the races, the Maranello outfit can once again return back to their winning ways and probably win a championship with Leclerc or Carlos Sainz before the change in regulations soon.
