Former F1 team boss makes OUTRAGEOUS Max Verstappen prediction

Eddie Jordan, former owner of the Jordan F1 team that handed Michael Schumacher his debut, thinks Max Verstappen is going to win 10 world titles.

The all-time Formula 1 (drivers’) championship wins record is held jointly by Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. The latter is currently still active, though not in a particularly competitive package. This means that the Briton still has the chance to take the all-time record for himself. Considering that he has already tied the record, obviously, he is generally considered to be the favorite to break it. But two notable figures think Max Verstappen is in with a good shout of taking the record himself.

The first of the two is Eddie Jordan, the founder and team owner of the Jordan F1 team that competed in the sport between 1991 and 2005. The team had its heyday in the late 90s, finishing 3rd in the Constructors’ championship with Damon Hill and Heinz-Harald Frentzen. The team is also notable as it gave Schumacher his F1 debut, back in 1991. Mr. Jordan expects Verstappen, currently at two titles, to absolutely smash his former driver’s (Schumacher) all-time championship wins record.

Speaking on the Formula for Success Podcast (that he co-hosts) with David Coulthard, the Irishman said: “If everything stays well with Max – and I’m hoping that it will mentally and physically and everything to do with the car – Max is gonna hit 10 World Championships, because he’s that young and that good.” He added: “How fast is he? He’s just ridiculous. I think Lewis needs to get on his bike and hurry up and get number eight because it’s soon to be passed up by Max.”

Felipe Massa, who came perilously close to winning a world title in 2008, is the second of the ‘two notable figures’ mentioned above. He was, of course, beaten by Lewis Hamilton by just one point. While he is not writing the Briton off (from breaking the record), he thinks Max Verstappen is more likely to do so. Asked whether the Dutchman had a better chance to break the all-time championship wins record, the Brazilian said to BILD: “Currently yes.

The former Ferrari man continued: “Max doesn’t make mistakes, he drives like a robot. He is extremely mature for his age. The two titles made him even better. He’s more relaxed now, not so dogged.” When quizzed whether a new ‘era’ has not dawned on the sport yet, he said: “I think that’s happening right now. Max Verstappen has become world champion for the past two years.

He also puts Verstappen favorite to win the 2023 world title: “I don’t see any reason why he shouldn’t get the hat trick. Much more. Max can also win four, five or six titles in a row.” and felt that everything has lined up for such an era to happen. While one cannot speak for the Dutchman breaking the all-time championship wins record, right now, he’s obviously the favorite to win the 2023 title.

This is despite the fact that he lost to his teammate, Sergio Perez, last weekend in Saudi Arabia. Suffice to say, Verstappen has had Checo’s number their entire time as teammates. In addition, Helmut Marko, Red Bull’s advisor, thought that the Dutchman was only ’80 percent’ in Jeddah. We might see a return to the top for Verstappen next weekend in Australia.
