Fred Vasseur pinpoints ‘most difficult’ moment in Ferrari’s contract talks with Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton‘s move to Ferrari from 2025 onwards has come as a major shock to the F1 paddock, as well as to the fans all over the globe. A lot has been said about Hamilton’s unprecedented move and while some people are still in disbelief, Ferrari boss, Fred Vasseur, has come forward and talked about it.
Vasseur has taken the time to shed light on the most difficult thing he had to do in pursuit of Lewis Hamilton. He believes that the call that he had to do with the Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff, was a mighty task in his objective of securing Hamilton’s signature.
As you can imagine, it was not the easiest call of my life. The one that was the most difficult was the one with Toto!Vasseur said, as reported by racingnews365:
The 55-year-old has made it clear that amongst all the difficult tasks that he had to perform during the Hamilton contract talks, it was the call with the Mercedes team principal that was the most difficult. It could have been the case because Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff share a very close bond that has only gotten stronger and stronger over the years.
Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari will generate immense interest during the 2024 F1 season
While Fred Vasseur has made it known that having the call with Wolff regarding Hamilton’s Ferrari deal was the most difficult thing, the latter and the whole Italian outfit will see immense interest in them during the upcoming 2024 F1 season.
Being a Mercedes driver throughout this year, people are going to be fascinated to see how Hamilton would race when it would be time to go wheel-to-wheel with the lights of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Similarly, it would be interesting from the point of view of Ferrari and Mercedes as well to see the Brit’s antics.
Lewis Hamilton has so far in his career amassed seven world championships and winning a potential eighth title is one of the reasons why he is moving to Ferrari. Keeping this in view, several people will have their eyes glued on Hamilton, Mercedes, and also the Ferrari outfit during the highly anticipated 2024 season.
