“Get in there,” Angela Cullen holds her end of the bargain after Lewis Hamilton’s deserved podium in Canada

Angela Cullen and Lewis Hamilton share a bond which is a perfect blend of professional and personal. We saw another glimpse of that same connection. Lewis Hamilton doesn’t have had a lot to smile about this season with all the problems with the car but the seven time world champion has recently been getting back into some sort of form and Canadian GP was another building block in that recovery.

Lewis Hamilton was on the podium for only the second time this season. This is something Mercedes and Lewis are not used. The team has always been seen competing for poles and wins. But, after the massive overhaul in regulations, the German manufacturer has not been able to get on top of their bouncing issues, not leaving Lewis Hamilton with any chance to compete for those podium finishes.

But, slowly and steadily, the mood in the camp is starting to change and Lewis has started to look happier with the progress. An example of that was his bet with his confidante, Angela Cullen. Hamilton had made a bet with Angela that if he bags a podium, Angela would have to take a dip in the river after the race. That’s exactly what happened. She needed a helping hand from Lewis but did it eventually.

This rounded off an almost perfect weekend for Lewis Hamilton with the resources he had at our disposal. He was ecstatic after the race and said, “It was honestly one of the best feelings of the year to be back, especially in Montreal where I got my first win 15 years ago. And to be back up there, to feel the atmosphere, and the crowd was pretty special.”

“For a second I was kind of keeping up with these guys. It’s given me and the team a lot of hope that there’s more to come from this car, the potential is there.”

“It feels great to be in amongst the battle,” quoted formula1.

Lewis Hamilton hasn’t had a lot of opportunities this season to celebrate but he hasn’t let that affect him celebrating this podium in Canada with his friend, Angela Cullen.
