Max Verstappen has been making his trade at the pinnacle of motor racing for several years. While he is always in the limelight for breaking records, his race engineer, Gianpiero Lambiase, has also played a pivotal role in his success. The duo have been together since the 2016 season of the sport.

Gianpiero Lambiase and Verstappen share a very tight-knit bond, and the latter has known that he would hand up his boots when Lambiase decides to retire. There are not many driver-race engineer pairings in the sport that share the kind of bond the Red Bull duo share.

Lambiase was recently asked to talk about Verstappen’s willingness to leave F1 in case he leaves, and while sharing his thoughts, the race engineer told Motorsport:

No one is irreplaceable. There's no way that when I walk out the door tomorrow, his Formula 1 career will be over.

GP has made it known that while he is pleased with what Max Verstappen has said about him, he feels that everyone is replaceable. Moreover, thinks that if he decides to leave, there is no way that the Dutchman would also be willing to call it quits, keeping in view how young he is.

Max Verstappen and Gianpiero Lambiase could be together at Red Bull for several years to come

While Gianpiero has played down the chances of Max Verstappen leaving F1 in case he decides to retire, the fact of the matter is that they could stay together at Red Bull at least until 2028. The latter has got a contract at the team until then and would most probably want to continue with his current race engineer.

Moreover, the Brit is still relatively young from the point of race engineers, and considering this, there is a very good possibility that he and Max Verstappen would work as partners at Red Bull for many years to come. Christian Horner and Co. are also immensely pleased with their partnership.

Max Verstappen has very quickly risen the ladder at the pinnacle of motor racing and has got the world at his feet. Gianpiero Lambiase has perfectly guided him so far in his career, and keeping this in view, how their partnership would further develop in the upcoming years would be a fascinating watch.
