Max Verstappen has had a really good start to the F1 season. When it is compared to his previous year, the difference is drastic. Red Bull already looked very strong in pre-season testing and it was clear that they were the favourites for the season. After qualifying 1-2 in Bahrain, expectations for the race were high for the Milton Keynes based squad. It is safe to say that they definitely delivered.

After the Bahrain GP, there has been a 2 week gap as the F1 circus goes to Saudi Arabia. In that time, the drivers had some free time. Max Verstappen didn’t have the best of luck off track as he caught a stomach bug. This led to him being sick for a few days. F1 drivers have a really tight schedule and Max being sick led to him having to delay his flight by a day.

This basically means that Max Verstappen wasn’t able to do his media duties. Driver’s press conferences and media interviews take place on Thursday. While his teammate Sergio Perez was present, the Dutch champion was nowhere to be seen. Meanwhile, Verstappen put out a statement on his social media explaining the reason for his absence and the fans reacted positively.

Some people also went on to point out that the last time Max Verstappen fell sick, he went on to absolutely boss that race weekend. He had gotten food poisoning which could have wrecked his weekend but Max bounced back and won in Austin. The same could be seen in Jeddah as the Dutch maestro prepares for the second race of the 2023 Formula 1 season.
