The Saudi Arabia GP is one of newest editions to the F1 calendar. It was first introduced in the pinnacle of motorsport back in the 2021 season. The 20 drivers take on the fast and challenging Jeddah Corniche circuit which is a street course. The circuit was designed by Carsten Tilke who is the son of Hermann Tilke. The Saudi Arabia GP track is the first circuit to come from Hermann’s son for Formula 1.
The Saudi Arabia GP will take place a two whole weeks after the opening race of the 2023 F1 season takes place in Bahrain. Drivers will be racing on the Jeddah Corniche street circuit which is 6.175 km in length. The race itself will consist of 57 laps. Thursday is reserved for press conferences and media duties. FP1 and FP2 will be taking place on Friday. FP3 and Qualifying will take place on Saturday while the race will take place on Sunday.
Formula 1 will be coming to race at the Jeddah Corniche street circuit for the third and possibly the last time. This being due to the organisers conducting the race at a brand new circuit in Qiddiya. However, in the past two iterations of the event, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen have been the stars of Arabia. The former won the inaugural Saudi Arabia GP while Max went on to beat Charles Leclerc to win the 2022 round by a very close margin.
