“He wasn’t the tidiest guy,” Sacha Fenestraz airs former roommate Lando Norris’ “dirty laundry” while speaking about their time together

“He wasn’t the tidiest guy,” Sacha Fenestraz airs former roommate Lando Norris’ “dirty laundry” while speaking about their time together

As one of the most talented racers on the Formula 1 grid, Lando Norris might seem like he has everything going for him. The Briton is currently the senior driver at McLaren–the team that Lewis Hamilton believes might contest for the World Championship in the upcoming season. And he has consistently performed brilliantly in his previous outings with the Woking-based outfit, having surpassed his teammate Daniel Ricciardo in the Standings in both years during the Australian’s two-year stint at McLaren.

But according to Norris’ old teammate, Sacha Fenestraz, there is another side to Lando Norris that might startle some people. The Formula E driver has recollected his memories of sharing a tiny flat in Guildford with the Belgian-British racer during their formative years. The two stayed in the apartment that had two huge racing simulators in the living room until Norris was offered a permanent racing seat at McLaren at the end of 2018.

According to Fenestraz, his life in their bachelor pad with Lando Norris was not the healthiest one as the Briton did not have the best of habits when it came to tidiness. He talked about that one time when Sacha Fenestraz stumbled over some empty boxes of cereal that Lando Norris had left lying around because he was too busy gaming to put the things in their assigned place. While the French-Argentine voiced his complaints against Lando Norris, he revealed that the two of them still laugh about the latter’s lack of hygiene to this day.

Sacha Fenestraz admits “it was a dream” staying with Lando Norris and two giant F1 simulators

For Sacha Fenestraz and Lando Norris, who are both very similar in age, it is unsurprising that the two crashed with each other for some time leading up to Lando getting a regular racing seat at McLaren in 2019. While commenting on how Lando appeared as a roommate, Fenestraz did not have the best of things to say about the Briton. He said to Daily Star, “He wasn’t the tidiest guy I have ever met, but nowadays we still laugh about it.” But then the Formula E racer also said living in a flat with two huge simulators “was a dream“.

In the upcoming F1 2023 season, Lando Norris has a big task ahead of him. With Oscar Piastri joining the squad at McLaren, Norris will be the senior driver among the two, so he needs to steer their team to victory like he has been doing since joining them in 2019. Now, it only remains to be seen if Lando manages to outscore his teammate for the third year in a row, or if Piastri delivers a fantastic performance to surpass Lando Norris in his very first year at the Woking-based outfit.
