How can Ferrari and Charles Leclerc stop Red Bull juggernaut in Baku?

Red Bull and Ferrari in F1
When the Formula 1 2022 season started off with the season-opener in Bahrain back in March, Scuderia Ferrari, the Italian team that had performed poorly in the previous few seasons, came out with their almost-perfect F1-75 and soon became everyone’s favorite for winning the Championship title of this year. And behind Ferrari were the teams of Red Bull and Mercedes. While Mercedes’ W13 appeared to be simply quite slow compared to the other race cars, Red Bull’s RB-18 posed severe reliability issues for the drivers.
In Bahrain, reigning World Champion Max Verstappen as well as his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez had to retire due to engine troubles, and the same thing happened with Verstappen once again in the Australian GP. At one point in time, Max Verstappen was 46 points behind the then-leader of the Championship table–Charles Leclerc, and it was quite apparent whom everyone backed for becoming the Drivers’ Champion of 2022.
But Red Bull turned the tables and came back with an upgraded RB-18 in the Imola Grand Prix, and snatched the first two positions in the race. Ever since then, Max Verstappen has won three consecutive Grand Prix’s in Imola, Miami, and Spain, while Ferrari could not perform up to the mark in any of them.
Last week, at the street circuit race of Monaco, Sergio Perez got the third victory of his career. This clearly showed that Ferrari has got a lot to make up for, if they want to surpass Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship once again. Keeping in mind the consistent rise of Red Bull in this season of F1, the question of whether the Ferrari racers be able to take the lead in the upcoming Baku Grand Prix is perplexing all the F1 fans.

The Ferrari pair of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz has proven to be a quite formidable one, given their victories in the initial few races of this season. But then, Carlos Sainz started experiencing several problems with his car for which he had to retire from two consecutive races in Australia and Imola. And while he did get a podium finish in Miami and Monaco, he still failed to protect Charles Leclerc’s position in last week’s race, where he could easily have won the P1 position.
And Charles Leclerc, as many F1 pundits have said, is making too many mistakes in the recent races to be considered as a serious contender for the F1 World Championship 2022. Speaking of Charles’ upsetting result in the Monaco Grand Prix where he lost out on a podium finish when he could have easily won the race, he said, “Sometimes mistakes can happen but there has been too many mistakes today overall.”
In the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ferrari needs to be flawless with their strategy, and Carlos Sainz needs to help Charles Leclerc get to the top of the grid so that he can win the race. Only then will the Scuderia be able to defeat their Championship rivals Red Bull in Baku.
