The inaugural Miami GP is almost here and Max Verstappen just like the other drivers cannot hold back his excitement. The circus on wheels has reached the fast moving city of Miami for the very first time. This will be a spectacle for the fans as the hype around the circuit is unreal. The circuit is full of high speed corners and long straights which would present drivers with more overtaking opportunities on this 3.36 miles circuit.

Max Verstappen is someone who doesn’t need second invitation when it comes to overtaking. This circuit could be tailor made for the Dutchman keeping in mind the kind of straight line speed the RB-18 possesses. But, at the same time, Red Bull needs to be wary of the threat that Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari possesses in the high speed corners. That has been the Achilles heel for the Milton Keynes outfit all through out this season so far.

But if we, for a moment, step away from intricacies, this should be a thrilling race. The events around the event will be as exciting as the race. It could be a glamorous affair as F1 is making its first trip to Miami. The reigning world champion talked about the importance of staying focused amidst everything going around the race. But, despite what happens on the track during the weekend, F1 will emerge as the winner.

Max Verstappen expressed how much he is looking forward to rev up that RB-18 on the speedy Miami circuit. Recently, in an interview, the reigning world champion said, “I think this weekend is going to be pretty crazy! I’m really looking forward to racing in Miami. I’ve driven the track on the simulator and we’ve prepared as best we can without having been on the track in real life.”

“Step by step we are making it more popular. I think the fact that the cars can now follow each other better, that overtaking is easier and that more teams are fighting for victory is most important for the fans.”

“I think not only the drivers are very excited, but the fans are too,” as reported by gpblog.

Max Verstappen is elated by the kind of popularity the sport is enjoying after a rebuild of sorts last season. Miami GP could be a huge step in tapping a huge audience in the USA. Let’s hope the Grand Prix lives up to its hype and expectation.
