F1 fans have taken to Reddit after Silverstone recently announced that their General Attendance passes had been sold out at ridiculous prices. The fans were enraged at this point as they were not only able to buy the tickets because of the various issues in the ticketing site but the ridiculous rise in prices made them think twice before buying the tickets.

Fans commented saying, “It took me 45 mins to get in and at that point they were £259 each. My friends and I have opted to go to Spa or Hungary and make a proper weekend out of it,” another fan commented saying, “The bigger story should be the hiked the price to over £300 for the pleasure of sitting on the grass!” The fans express their pain towards the sport and its growing prices by saying, “When they saw how many people were waiting in the online queue, they hiked the prices up by 100 quid. Turns out they were right, since it sold out. F1 has always been a rich person sport unfortunately, the average Joe can watch on TV.”

“Glad I went years ago. I fully expect not to go to watch f1 again. Especially at those prices. When I went GA were £79,” said a avid F1 fan. Many fans have decided to watch a different motorsport because of this saying, “First year we’re not going in over 20 years. 400 per ticket for a large family just isn’t doable (or acceptable) anymore. We’ll do a weekend in LeMans next year instead.”

The rising ticket prices and the sudden popularity of the show have upset the old fans and they feel that this is tainting the sport and the common man can no longer go to the track and enjoy it.
