‘I thought this challenge was for couples’: F1 Twitter bewildered by Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc’s new TikTok

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz seem to have always gotten along, despite having raced closely on occasion, especially so in Silverstone. Their exploits on-track never seem to affect their own personal relationships, and this always shows through in videos Ferrari post, or even the ones that the drivers themselves post.

There is no shortage of funny moments when the two get together – from Leclerc hiding in a closet to wish Sainz a happy birthday, to the pair of them sharing a sandwich on a plane. Now, there’s one more to add to the collection. Recently, Ferrari uploaded a video of the drivers partaking in a Tiktok trend.

Twitter exploded as the video surfaced on the website. The video featured Carlos Sainz lifting Charles Leclerc by the waist up into the air, and then the Monegasque made a running pose, all while Jacques Offenbach’s ‘Can-Can’ played. Yes, it was as funny as you think it was.

Apparently, it is also a challenge for couples. Which makes you wonder why the two Ferrari drivers are doing it. Fans think that Ferrari have taken inspiration from AlphaTauri in this regard.

Fans were also left wondering how the (social media) team convinced Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to go through with this, but it’s entirely possible that they did not need much convincing.

Some fans also referred the idea to their own teams for future reference. With Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris, it is sure to look hilarious.

Some felt that the TikTok video can be seen as an allegory for how Charles Leclerc’s season has gone this time around. Often, the Monegasque has been compromised for his team. In this particular example, Carlos Sainz is a stand-in for Ferrari.

Indeed, the championship is all but gone for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz. It’s now very far out of sight, and the fate of the WDC could be sealed in Japan itself. The real battle is now only for P2, and in that the two big runners are Leclerc and Sergio Perez.
