Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing showed their hunger for another championship as they went on to completely dominate Bahrain. Having qualified 1-2 for the F1 season’s opening round in Bahrain, much was expected from the duo during the race. Thankfully, they didn’t disappoint as Max won the race by a great margin and Checo finished second.

While Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez are arguably one of the best pairings on the 2023 grid so far, their relationship has had its ups and downs. Mexican Pop star Jary Franco is a huge fan of Checo aka ‘the Mexican minister of defence.’ His latest single ‘De 0 a 100 Checo Perez’, had gotten over 2.5 million views on Youtube. On the other hand, the singer has also enjoyed the fact that his song has over a million streams on Spotify.

This has made the song a viral hit in his home country of Mexico. While he is a die hard fan, Franco doesn’t share the same feeling when it comes to Sergio Perez’s teammate Max Verstappen. He also referred to the 2022 Brazil GP where there was a heated exchange between the two drivers during the final lap. The Mexican singer was outraged by the actions of Verstappen.

While speaking to Marca, here is what he had to say. “I support Red Bull, but only because of Checo. This guy [Verstappen] doesn’t know what camaraderie is,” he stated. “I am one of those who after everything that happened came out with my heart and I no longer support [Verstappen]. I’m not even telling you why they censored the words,” he continued.

When asked what he would say to Sergio Perez when they meet again, here is what the singer said. “I’d say go f*** yourself to Verstappen! I would tell him to keep it simple [stay grounded] because it must be very easy to lose your head at those levels of popularity, success, and money. I would love for him to maintain that image and to continue representing Mexico,” he said.

Mexican fans are fuelled with love for Sergio Perez who represents the country at the topmost tier of motorsports. Emotions run high and so does their passion. The case could be the same with Jary Franco. On the other hand, the Red Bull duo of Verstappen and Perez will be focused on conquering Saudi Arabia as the F1 circus will be racing there this week.
