“I’m here for this pair”: Fans cannot keep calm as ROC announces a comeback for Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher in 2023
Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher
The world of Formula 1 is indeed a cutthroat one with racers always aiming for each other’s neck to get to the top of the Championship standings. But every once in a while, fans discover some wholesome relationships develope between the F1 drivers, and one of the biggest example of this would be the mentor-mentee dynamics between German racers Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher. When Vettel was only a newbie to the F1 paddocks, Mick’s father, the legendary seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher had held his hands as he learnt to steer through the world of motorsports.
Now, the times have changed. At 35, Sebastian Vettel decided to step down from his role as a regular F1 racer, and it has been two years since Michael’s son Mick Schumacher made his debut on the F1 racetracks. And it is indisputable that Seb has always looked out for Mick to return the favor that Mick’s father had done to him. Unfortunately, the young Schumacher could not get a seat at any of the teams in 2023, and thus he will have to sit out and act as the Mercedes reserve driver. But that does not mean fans will be missing out on seeing the Seb-Mick duo in action.
In a spectacular announcement on Twitter, the official handle of the Race of Champions declared that Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher will make a return to competitive racing on 27th January of 2023 as the two will compete in the ROC. Frenzied fans have lapped up the news, giving their own reactions to ROC’s tweet.
Fans rejoice as Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel get ready to appear at the 9th ROC Cup
It is a well known fact to all the motorsports enthusiasts in the world that the Race of Champions is one of the most highly anticipated racing events of the year. It is a celebration of the finest racers in the various motorsports disciplines as it brings them all together for a head-to-head battle “on the very same track in the very same car.” This time, F1 racers Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel will be seen having a go for the ROC Cup in the first month of next year.

In the upcoming Formula 1 season, Mick Schumacher will be seen in his Mercedes overalls as the Stuttgart-based team has taken him up as their reserve driver. This career move by the young German might be viewed as a bold attempt as he perhaps expects to take up a seat at the team beside George Russell once Lewis Hamilton retires in the near future. Now, only time will tell how things turn out for this member of the Schumacher clan.
