Jenson Button hints Lando Norris can’t win races with McLaren in 2023 and 2024

Rumors about a potential transfer of Lando Norris from McLaren to Red Bull have been gaining momentum over the last couple of weeks. The speculation came to light when Norris openly expressed his willingness to team up with his friend Max Verstappen in the future. Now, 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button pointed out that Norris might have to make tough choices about his future with Mclaren.
McLaren has made a remarkable recovery after facing a poor start to the season and has established itself as a strong contender to end Red Bull’s dominance. They have secured 115 points in the constructors’ championship and hold 5th position after going pointless in a handful of races in the early part of the year. Besides the impressive podium finish, McLaren still lacks pace compared to their rivals.

He claimed that McLaren might not be able to win him the world championship, and going to Red Bull is an option.
“I think if he [Norris] is clever….He’s not in a car that can win right now. And it probably won’t next year either, I don’t think. He’s got to be looking elsewhere for 2025. Or he puts his trust in McLaren…if not, go and fight Max Verstappen in his team. But that’s a hard one,” said Button, as reported by Racingnews365.com
