The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon is a mainstay for celebrities worldwide. Stars from across various industries aim to visit Jimmy’s show. Be it Music’s Ariana Grande or Hollywood’s, Michael B Jordan. However, it was the Formula 1 world that graced the show recently. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez made an appearance with Jimmy Fallon alongside Ford’s President and CEO Jim Carley.

Jimmy Fallon briefed the viewers about Ford’s decision to join Formula 1 in 2026. Apparently, Fallon got his competitive spirits high in light of this announcement. Consequently, Jimmy challenged F1 race winner Sergio Perez to a go-kart race. Of course, this race was made possible due to Ford’s newly formed ties with Red Bull Racing. Jim Carley did his best to train the American host before the race with the Red Bull driver.

Sergio Perez and Jimmy Fallon raced in all-electric go-karts. These karts were charged by the Ford F150 Lightning pick-up truck, as the American automaker seeks to promote its EV business. The Ford-Red Bull partnership is an extension of this strategy. The pre-race preparation was hilarious as Jimmy dressed up in a rather extravagant race suit. Although, Fallon soon changed into normal racing gear. Surprisingly, it was Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner who officiated this race.

Christian Horner gave a few words of wisdom before the start of this duel. The two drivers were instructed to have “a good clean race.” Christian continued, “No bumping, no banging... May the best man win.” Sergio Perez broke the silence between the two as he said, “Let’s go and race.” Jimmy Fallon on the other hand, tried some trash talking. As the host stated, “Heard you took a DNA test. It turns out you’re a 100% that b*tch.”

As the green flag waved, Sergio Perez took the lead but Jimmy Fallon was not so far behind. The two drivers drove the electric karts to their limit, going wheel to wheel on a few instances. This exciting contest came to an end as Jimmy crossed the line in the first place. An unreal experience for the host who proclaimed himself as the “Electric Go-Kart Champion of the World.” Of course, some keen eyes might point out Sergio’s fall in pace by the last corner.

However, racing is racing. Jimmy Fallon defeated Sergio Perez fair and square. Thus, now the American host can boast about being faster than a Grand Prix winner. Certainly, this incredible outing was a way to promote the recent announcement made by Ford and Red Bull. Though, it was definitely cherished by the fans as they got to see Perez race before the start of the F1 season. It will be interesting to see if Sergio can bounce back from this defeat.
